To say the Jackson Restaurant Week Kick-Off Party Wednesday night was a success would be an understatement! Missed it… here’s a recap.
As each guest walked through the door of the beautiful Fairview Inn, he or she was greeted by a cocktail waitress handing out Cathead Vodka’s official Jackson Restaurant Week cocktail, First Blossom. This simple mixture featured the brand new Cathead Honeysuckle Vodka, and was adorned with a handmade Parisian drink umbrella and an orange peel. People went wild over the delicate taste of this new product, and they were excited to find out that it is now for sale at select retailers in the metro area!
As guests sipped on their First Blossom, they were encouraged to take pictures in front of the swanky Jackson Restaurant Week backdrop. Our photographers promise some GREAT pictures from this little “photo booth!”
Musicians on the piano and the upright bass kept the European vibe going with some fitting tunes, while servers from fifteen of our Jackson Restaurant Week participating restaurants circulated small tasting samples from their special pre fixe menus on silver platters. The feedback we heard on the food was 100% positive!
Emcee Robert St. John kept the party alive with his stories, southern charm, and natural ability to entertain! Guests sipped not only on Cathead Honeysuckle cocktails, but craft beers provided by Southern Beverage Company and Capital City Beverage and spirits provided by Fondren Cellars as they listened to the charity representatives tell about their causes.
Friends of Childrens Hospital, CARA, The Mustard Seed, Jackson Free Clinic, and Magnolia Speech School all had a good show! After hearing what each charity was all about, each guest had the chance to cast one of the first votes of the week! (The winning charity at the end of Jackson Restaurant Week will be awarded a $10,000 check, so these votes were very valuable!)
Towards the end of the evening, the four finalists for the BankPlus Ultimate Dining Experience came into the spotlight, each standing in front of a plate covered by a silver dome. At the same time, each finalists lifted her dome and the winner was revealed! From the squeals of excitement we heard, she was just a little bit excited about her big win!
Each guest left the party with a full belly, a gameplan for which restaurants to visit during Jackson Restaurant Week, and a swag bag carefully put together by Associated Food Equipment and Supplies, the presenting partner for Jackson Restaurant Week.
We had a fantastic time and, based on feedback, those of you who were there had a great time too! We are excited about the official start of Jackson Restaurant Week on Sunday, April 15, and we can’t wait to see you out and about eating for a good cause next week!
